Fishermans Beanie Pattern

You will need:

6mm needles
1 ball 8 ply wool
1 ball of 12 ply brushed mohair.

This is for a Small sized ladies head.

•Cast on 56 stitches
•1x1 rib for 6cm
•knit in stocking stitch for another 13cm

To shape the head continue in stocking stitch, each knit row you will be decreasing as follows;
• first decrease row *knit 6, knit 2*, repeat to end of the row.
• second decrease row *knit 5, knit 2* repeat to the end of the row
•third decrease row *knit 3, knit 2* etc. etc.
• keep decreasing in stocking stitch in the above pattern until you have 14 stitches remaining on your needle.
• cut your yarn leaving a 40cm tail and pull your knitting off the needle
•sew your yarn tail through your remaining stitches, pull tight and sew it up.

If you wanted to make this easier/tidier you could use a circular needle 🤍

If you're wanting to increase with width of this beanie and you are working on straight needles, increase in increments of 8 stitches.
