Loop the yarn over your needle with a generous tail. Take both tails into your left hand and lock them down with your ring and pinky fingers.

Spread the two strand of yarn with your thumb and index finger to form a diamond with the yarn. Your left hand will be in the shape of a pistol.

Take your needle and loop it over the top of the yarn wrapped around your thumb and loop under it, catching it.

Pull the yarn across and loop your needle over and under the yarn wrapped around your index finger.

Pull the yarn over your needle and tighten both tails,

Repeat steps 1-5 until you have the total number of stitches on your needle indicated by your knitting pattern. You can then begin knitting!
