The Simple Vest is an easy boat neck style vest with chunky stripes. 

Perfect for layering in winter or wearing on its own! It's quick and easy to knit up, working two identical panels from the bottom up and sewn together. 

This is a lace weight knit which has a lovely drape when finished due to the fluffy mohair yarn and chunky needles.

Materials Required

  • 8 mm (US 11) straight knitting needles (30 cm / 12 in)
  • 12 mm (US 17) straight knitting needles (30 cm / 12 in)
  • 1 x 100g skein Touch Yarns 12 ply Brushed Mohair in colour A (approx. 210 m / 230 yd)
  • 1 x 100g skein Touch Yarns 12 ply Brushed Mohair in colour B (approx. 210 m / 230 yd)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Measuring tape
  • Yarn snips

Gauge

9 stitches and 11 rows = 10 cm / 4" in stocking stitch using 12mm (US 17) needles.
