This is an oversized high-neck sweater with loose sleeves and long cuffs which sits at hip height. This is an intermediate knitting pattern perfect for someone who has mastered the basics. 

This sweater is knitted form the bottom up. Instructions are provided for both working on straight needles and working in the round so you can choose from either depending on your preference.

Materials Required

  • 4 mm (US 6) circular needle, 40 cm (16″)
  • 6 mm (US 10) circular needle, 80cm (32") if you prefer working in the round | Or, 6 mm (US 10) straight needles if you prefer flat knitting
  • 11 [12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17] x 12-ply Sesia Eiffel Mohair — 75 m (82 yd) / 25 g (0.9 oz) per ball
  • 9 [9, 10, 10, 11, 11, 12] x 8-ply Wild Earth Yarns — 104 m (114 yd) / 50 g (1.8 oz) per ball
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch markers
  • Measuring tape

Gauge

14 stitches x 21 rows = 10 cm / 4 in in stocking stitch on 6 mm (US 10) needles holding one strand of each yarn together.

Skill Level

This is an intermediate knitting pattern.

This Sweater will teach you how to (if you don’t already know) 1x1 rib stitch, stocking stitch, German short rows, bind off, and mattress stitch.
